Banda da Margem Sul de Black Metal, com algumas influências de Tharsh, Death e Folk.

É um projecto a solo de Sacerdos Magus aka Iblis - onde toca baixo, guitarra (Acustica e Electrica), bateria e ainda é responsável pelas vozes.
Fez parte de bandas como Firstborn Evil / The Firstborn, Psycoma ou The Invertebrate e foi vocalista de sessão de Sistematic Collision.

Será misturado como habitualmente por Paulo Vieira que também grava coros, guitarra solo e safa uma data de problemas, e terá a participação também já habitual de Gustavo Vieira no teclado.
O selo está 99% garantido que será a norte americana Ophiucus Records, a sua editora actual.

Abi In Malam Pestem / In Pulverem Reverteris Review:

The first full-lenght work of this lusitanian Black Metal project, that’s nothing more nothing less, that the two first demos of 2000 and 2002.
Abi In Malam Pestem is the 2002 demo, but comes in first place in this album. The first hymn, Principium: Cosmogony - The Creation, is an instrumental introduction based in
creation of the universe; the cosmogony. Starts with an ambiental development that remembers the silence of the cosmos and the tranquility of the immense universe and suddenly, there’s an explosion in the sonority with a kind of “drums of war”, a very epic female chorus and a cutting knife sound that’s problably about the big bang and the formation of the planets. This all happens in 3:30 min. and opens correctly the path to the second opus, Eine Such Nach Wissen. This track talks about the human quest for knowledge and wisdom, but in the same time, tells a parallel story about the dominions, imaginary realms and thoughts of the mind of the composer and man of the project Sacerdos Magus and about his own quest for knowledge. Is a fast 9 min. song, but with slow and rhythmic parts.
The third song gave the name to the demo, Abi In Malam Pestem and is a very fast song all sung in latin language. Abi In Malam Pestem means Go To Hell in english and this song is a realy sputum in the human life’s condition and pretence of achieve a better future for mankind, killer!
The third track is the first interludium and is called Intermissio I: Le Vaguer Du Fantôme. Is an instrumental acoustic fingering with a very monumental and epic keyboard work and folk influences. Remembers mayor someone wandering through a forest in the dark of the night, farway from the human civilisation and boredom.
The fourth track is a 13 min. hymn and is called Of Dying Seasons (The Cursed Ones) and talks about something that’s not very usual in the context of the Black Metal bands:
The global heating and the present climatic alterations that we feel nowadays. That’s a part that seems to be a lament of the planet earth, that is sung with clean vocals, together with a female voice that makes remember the own mother’s earth lamnet. All this in a very calm but imposing instrumental work, with a very well made guitar solo, followed by a narrative of a biblic salm of Isaiah about the apocalypse.
Than is the second acoustic instrumental interludium. Is called Intervallum II: Crepusculum and is a hymn for the twilight and the night it self.
The seventh opus has the name in portuguese and is called Guardiões Do Graal (Ou Lapsit Exilis). Is not an instrumental song but doesn’t have any lyrics. Instead has chorus done in the epic way and is a track that despite of doesn’t have words, remembers the portuguese medieval times and the influence of the night templars in the formation of this small kingdom. Ends with a militar beat that’s perfect to end the demo, at least of the “band themes”.
The very last song is the last acoustic interludium that’s called Remissio III: My Throne Burn To Ashes, that’s more or less the continuation of Guardiões Do Graal (Ou Lapsit Exilis). Seems to be the the visions of a king after a great battle about his destroyed realm and his throne in flames.
Than comes the 2000 demo In Pulverem Reverteris, that begins with an keyboard intro called Fleurs Du Mal - Initium. Another track that despite of been intrumental, expressed very well the title that it’s called.
The tenth hymn is called Bula Ad Extirpenda (Innocentio IVth, MCCLII - The Saint Office Of Inquisition Of Faith and, as the name indicates, is the first historical hymn of this record (not counting with Of Dying Seasons (The Cursed Ones) that’s modern history). The beginning of the malicious inquisition and the evil authors of one of the most terrible happenings of the middle ages, are narrated in a 9 min. very intence track that’s problably one of the most better moments of this record!
Than the smaller “band song” of the album: In Pulverem reverteris. 1:57 min of neverending musical chaos with a vehement screamed vocals and a catastrophic blastbeat from the beginning to the end. Problably the most brutal song in this record together with Abi In Malam Pestem.
To end the demo and of course this album, there’s an instrumental acoustic song called A Nightside Of Eden - Finalis. A very harmonic fingering with piano, always with the back sound of rain and birds, that carries us into a wild garden full of animal life, farway from the modern world. We can hear a complete music sample in the end of monks singing with percussion keeping up with, that is a mistur of church chorus with tribal drums.
And so, that’s the first record of Antiquus Scriptum, that despite of have some technical details not so well done, and seeing that are the two first demos recorded in a homemade studio, this is a great first album!

Immortalis Factus Review:

The second opus of this lusitanian project, that is a great Black Metal album seeing what is made nowadays in this forlorn land!
The first hymn, Procemium / A Viking Belief, is a 16 min. song that deals with the scandinavian mithology about the Vikings and their beliefs. Tells minutely all the Viking rooting about their gods, their imaginary realms, the Ragnarok and etc.
Procemium is a kind of intro, very imposing and even with a little progressive influence, that’s caught to this great track, ideal to open the record.
The second hymn, Ad Primam Auroram, is an acoustic song, very folk with male and female vocals, singing the melody without saying a word. Featured to the precussion that’s very well done.
The third rush is another big song that’s called A Batalha De Al - Ashbounah (Ou Lixbona MCXLVII), that talks about the portugese reconquest to the moorishs in the beginning of the middle ages. Is a historical song, very teaching, that is a real lesson of the medieval portuguese history! A fast track sung in the portuguese language.
The fourth assault is a instrumental little song, that’s a kind of continuation of the third song. Is called Kafir and is always opening from the beginning to the end. Ends with a medieval acoustic fingering that makes remembrance to that long forgotten times.
The fifth song, O Adamastor, it’s another song sung in portugese, that has lyrics based in a portuguese poem of Luís de Camões, a medieval poet. A track that reveals some Punk influences and remember the fears of the medieval people about the sea threats and imaginary monsters that terrozing the oceans.
Than is the second interludium, Amor Platónico. Another acoustic song not sung, but spoken, or even whispered in portuguese. Talks about the absence of carnal love and the love distance.
The seventh hymn is the most brutal song in this record! Is called Inner Depression (Syndromes Of Fear) and is always open as well from the beginning to the end. Talks about solitude in mental illness and about someone that suffer the torment of schizophrenia in absolute solitude. A hit in the eye!
The eighth opus is called I. N. R. I. - Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum and is another historical song, that talks about the Christ’s life and death. Is a kind of Satyr about the presense and message of christianity. Tells all the steps of Christ in life and what apens to him then. Is a song that question for what’s all the suffering defended by the church, realising that Jesus Christ was just another mortal dying by the hands of the romans as was custom in that era. Is a nine min. song that has the particularity of been always rhythmic and not open.
Than is the last “band song” of the album. Thy Visionary is a fast 10 min. track that is based in visions and prophecies of men as Nostradamus, Isaiah and even Jesus Christ. Is a warning to the future, seeing our mistakes in the past. The ideal song to end this record.
Tempus Praeteritus is the third and last interludium. A keyboard track very epic and sad. Remembers the magnificence of the bygone times and close this album has a glove.
In the end of the record, despite of not been in the tracklist, is a little song that is a Burzum intrumental cover. A kind of middley of the Burzum’s song Stemmen Fra Tårnet that is maybe a tribute to one man bands.
A great lusitanian Black Metal album that shows that Portugal has a word to say as well in this field!

Os Antiquus Scriptum acabam de assinar com a sueca Salute Records para a edição do próximo álbum Conclamatum Est. A edição está prevista para o verão de 2010 e ainda não se sabe mais pormenores de tiragem.
Com o fim anunciado da sua actual editora, a norte americana Ophiucus Records, o projecto de Almada de Sacerdos Magus teve de trilhar novos caminhos em busca da edição e foi na Suécia que encontrou o Graal.

Os Baixistas Sacerdos Magus a. K. a. Iblis e Helder Malicia são pessoas diferentes!... Por todo o lado na net está como se fossem a mesma pessoa e não têm nada a ver a não ser um, ter ido substituido o outro na banda The Firstborn. Iblis era o baixista inicial dos então Firstborn Evil, saiu em 1998 e formou os Antiquus Scriptum, sobre o pseudónimo de Sacerdos Magus. Helder Malicia entrou para o seu lugar após a banda ter mudado de nome para The Firstborn.

Os Antiquus Scriptum vão ver os seus 1ª e 2ª álbuns reeditados em formato profissional (com booklet) pela sua actual editora, a sueca Salute Records.
Está confirmado que Abi In Malam Pestem + In Pulverem Reverteris (as demos de 2002 e 2000, respectivamente) sairá em Dezembro, Immortalis Factus (o álbum de 2008) sairá em Janeiro e Conclamatum Est, o novo trabalho, sairá no Verão de 2010.
